Aracy’s Friends is an arts and crafts enrichment program involving high school volunteers who visit weekly with children in a variety of therapeutic settings. It was created and sponsored by the Belchers, a Hopkins Family.
Throughout the academic year, carefully selected students from Hopkins School offer fun interactions with children who are receiving various types of medical care.
At Hopkins School, the Aracy’s Friends program chooses two students from the junior and senior classes who apply. They are part of the program for two years.
To date, Aracy’s Friends has served hundreds of children.

I joined Aracy’s Friends in 2025 as a junior. The program seemed like a perfect fit for me as an artist and crafter.
Every Tuesday, I go to Orange Pediatric Center for 3 hours to do crafts with the patients and siblings of patients. I’ve made so many new friends there and built a community of little artists.
I am truly honored to be part of Aracy’s Friends and making a true impact on the lives of many young children.
